Q: Where does the Chapel get the funding for its operations?A: The worshippers who attend our scheduled Sunday services provide the bulk of the funding along with donations from other generous St. James residents.
Q: Does the Chapel accept checks in the offertory collection?A: Yes, we do. Checks can be made payable to: “St. James Chapel.”
Q: Where does the Chapel find the ministers who conduct the services?
A: For the most part, ministers find us. Whether retired or actively serving another church, our ministers enjoy the opportunity to share their talents and their faith with our welcoming and enthusiastic worshippers.
Q: How does one become a member of the St. James Chapel’s congregation?A: The Chapel does not have a formal membership roll. All St. James residents and visitors are welcome to attend our services as often as they like, even if only a few times a year.
Q: Does the Chapel offer communion as part of their regular services?A: No, we do not. Services include prayers, scripture reading, preaching and music, but we do not offer communion. Q: How do I reserve the Chapel for a wedding?A: Contact Mary Curtis, our Special Events Coordinator for information and availability.
Q: Is the Chapel available for funerals and memorial services? A: Yes, it is, and there is no usage fee for funerals or memorial services.
Q: Are any of the Chapel’s ministers available to conduct weddings, funerals, or baptisms?
A: Yes, several of our ministers conduct special event services at the Chapel. Contact Mary Curtis, our Special Events Coordinator, for more details.
