St. James Plantation Chapel BRICK SALES
Commemorative Garden
Pet Garden
The focus of the Chapel’s fundraising is an outdoor space where St. James residents may honor and celebrate their family, neighbors, groups, events and moments that are special in their lives. The Commemorative Garden enhances the amenities and quality of life here in St. James for residents of all faiths and, the purchase of an engraved brick provides a physical connection, an anchor in the community, for years to come.
In a nearby separate section of the Chapel’s property under a beautiful canopy of trees, there is a second commemorative garden devoted especially to the dogs, cats and other household pets – both living and deceased – who bring joy, laughter, fond memories and love to St. James residents. Engraved bricks may be purchased in either garden or both, and there are no limits to the number of bricks purchased.

ST. JAMES CHAPEL DEDICATES COMMEMORATIVE GARDENS
On Sunday, April 23rd, 2023, more than a hundred people gathered under the canopy of a gorgeous Carolina blue sky to formally dedicate the Chapel’s newly completed Commemorative Gardens. As attendees arrived, they were greeted by a table filled with fresh flowers and invited by volunteers to place the stems on any brick in the gardens that was special to them. The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Canon Jim Hanisian who remarked to the assemblage, “After reading these inscriptions, it is clear that every person purchasing a brick was motivated by love.” The event was capped off when a very special guest arrived – Homer Wright, the founder of St. James Chapel.
